How to change the JRE
caution
- Do not attempt this unless you know what you are doing!
- Users using Intel HD Graphics 2000, 3000 and on Windows should NEVER change the JRE unless the current JRE is not using Java 8u51
- Users using Intel HD Graphics 2500, 4000 and on Windows should avoid changing the JRE unless it is Java 8u251 or older
- Changing the JRE for these users will disable performance flags to prevent crashes, which will significantly decrease performance
- Download the JRE appropriate for your system: Java SE 8 Archive Downloads
- For Sandy Bridge users on Windows (using Intel HD Graphics 2000, 3000), use 8u51

We do not recommend using third party JREs unless you understand the risks or are instructed to test.
- Extract the folder
note
- Users using Windows 10/11 22H2 or older may need to install a third party application such as 7-zip to extract the folder
- Consider extracting the JRE into a folder that is not a temporary folder
- Open the CheatBreaker launcher
- Go to ADVANCED > select JRE Directory
- Go to the extracted JRE folder, and keep going into each subfolder until you see
bin
